Hill Walking in the Scottish Borders

Stunning views all to yourself.  Yes you will have to work for them but the hill lands of the Borders offer a mixture of accessible or challenging walks.  Either way these walks make days out to be remembered.  However if it all seems a bit like hard work, why not try a country walk.

Gypsie Glen / Cadmuir Walk

This is a long walk, fairly energetic as it has many ascents and descents. The route is well defined to start with, as it follows the Old Drove Road, some parts boggy under foot.

Hartfell Hike

A walk that can start from Moffat or Devils Beef Tub, either way it has some good ascent and descent.

Grade:Severe Severe
Minchmoor Walk

A fairly energetic walk from Selkirk to Innerleithen taking in the Three Brethern and the Wallace Trench. Starts with a climb for the first couple of miles. The route is well defined.

Tibbie Shiels to Traquair Walk

Mixture of terrain, Hilley, Drove Roads, Hill Paths and Moorlands. This walk starts from the Tibbie Shiels in which is situated at the Southern end of St Mary’s Loch.

Lee Pen Walk

Moderate:- Starts with a climb of 2km to the top of Lee Pen (502) from then on it is a nice undulating walk.

Manor / Cademuir Walk

A nice and easy start passing Neidpath Castle and head towards Manor Bridge, very picturesque. Good views of Peebles and surrounding hills.
